The Next Julia Child? Yay Pie!
Oct. 16th, 2002 07:16 pmOy, I'm so glad to be back home. This past weekend's trip, the one coinciding with my birthday? Not so much of the good. But I've already whined to a couple of people about it, so I'm not going to do that again. Instead, I'm just going to pretend it never happened.
Speaking of birthdays, thank you so much to all of you who sent me happy birthday wishes! Plus the pics done by the fantabulous
goss,
scrunchy
slodwick, and
tresca made me happy happy. I have them all saved so I can admire your genius as many times as I desire. Yay!
In other news, I went to a cooking class today. Learned how to make Lemon Curd Cheesecake, Tart Tatin, and Double Chocolate Toffee Cookies. The class was really fun and we got to eat the results, which inspired me to purchase a 6 class series. I've already signed up for two more classes; next I'll be mastering Holiday Pies (Sweet Potato, Chocolate Bourbon Pecan, and Apple Cranberry) and French Bistro Food (Bistro Salad, Steak Au Poivre, Garlic Mashed Potatoes, and Caramelized Apple Crepes). I'll be a cooking fool soon! So who wants to come visit me and sample all my new gastronomic skills? I'm taking reservations. (And we can hit the gym together too, to work off all the gourmet lovin' I'll be serving up. If ya wanna.)
Now I'm back to the tv - still trying to catch up with all the shows recorded while I was away. "Red" is on the menu tonight! WooHoo! Pretty boys and good food...a good day indeed.

Date: 2002-10-16 09:16 pm (UTC)I'd come and visit you, except for the living in another country thing.
...and I'm jealous that you get to see Red and we're still working our way through season one.
