Favorite Word Meme
Mar. 11th, 2003 11:48 pmThankfully, my splitting headache is receding, which made me so happy that I decided to play with the Favorite Words meme that I saw in ![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)

Scurrilous: this one is so much fun to say. C'mon, isn't it WAY more fun to say "scurrilous" instead of "grossly or obscenely abusive"?
Bawdy and ribald: since they're related, I'll lump them together. I like these words because I like people and things that are humorously indecent. Like many friends here on LJ!
In a similar vein, lascivious. Much cooler way of saying "lustful"...and the SV fandom has certainly enlarged (perhaps one might even say engorged) that part of my brain.
Which brings me to sybarite: actually, I like the adjective form better - "sybaritic". It's not overused, which makes it an awesome hangman word. Heh.
Lastly, pumpkin: fun to say (imagine Electric Company mouths saying it - it plays on your lips in a ribald way!), makes good pies, voluptuous, and you can carve 'em into jack o'lanterns.
