Aug. 15th, 2003 09:49 amYesterday I had a RL friend over and we weren't anywhere near a computer or any source of news, so it wasn't until I got home and talked to Mr. Dis that I learned of the power outages.
To all my friends in the affected areas: I'm so happy to see that some of you have already reported that you're okay. And I hope the rest of you are doing well too.
(I hope none of you needed the electricity for any medical equipment - when the power went out here a few weeks back, I realized that the nifty machine that allows me to sleep without my horrible sleep apnea kicking in wasn't going to work. That realization really sucked. That time our power was only out for about an hour, so I can only imagine how much it must suck to be without power for so long. Especially if you had to hoof it up and down tall buildings and across rivers and such.)
anathema666 called to check on me and to tell me that
wubba left a message that she was ok. Wubba, darling, I'm glad you're fine, and enjoy your time off work! Though it's certainly not under circumstances that one would wish for, a few hours away from the office should be good, right?
anathema666, thank you for calling to check on me. I don't even remember laughing at you, sweets. Sorry about that. Laughing would have been uncalled for, so I clearly need to atone for my bad behaviour (see how I snuck that "U" in there?) by groveling at your feet, licking your boots, and doing your dishes.
