disbelief11: (Silly Dis)
Seeing Pillow Talk in the park last night with [livejournal.com profile] spasticat, [livejournal.com profile] taraljc, and [livejournal.com profile] xica_s was fabulous. Doris Day was spunky, Rock Hudson was slick, and Tony Randall was too damn funny. As always, the company was fantastic.

Oh, and in the short films before the movie, a guy proposed to his girlfriend. Yep, in a mini-movie he turned to the camera and asked her if she would marry him - turns out they had their first date two years ago at the outdoor filmfest. She said yes. It was all very adorable, even if I couldn't see where the couple was sitting. The whole audience "aww"-ed and clapped and cheered for them.

Next week, the last film of the series: Rear Window. Should be fun.

Speaking of pillow talk and rear portals, I just have to take a second to say how sexy and funny [livejournal.com profile] timian and [livejournal.com profile] ubertodd were in chat the other day. Who knew being so naughty was so hot? Thankfully, that was before Uber smelled like Thin Mints, otherwise I would have spontaneously combusted.

In other news, I have to admit that I just don't understand the appeal of the Three Stooges. I know that'll be sacrilege to some but I just don't get it.

Hugs to all of you! The first 200 hugged will also receive special gropings. Mwah!

Oh boy.

Mr. Dis has been unhappy lately with his job. He's gotten to a point where he can't advance any further, plus there's been some kerfuffles with his immediate boss.

So for the past few weeks, he's been submitting his resume to various places and posting it at Monster, etc. The plan he and I spoke about was for him to stay in his current position until next April, to get his final vesting in his stock options and to keep the steady paycheck until he finds something better.

You can imagine my surprise when he walked into the house earlier today and told me he had resigned.

It's not like we're in dire need of an immediate income - we've got money in the bank, plus the paltry severance package they're giving him. But I worry. Guess I'll be submitting my resume for some temp work for now, just to feel better about things. Thankfully I just whipped that thing into shape recently.

Since most jobs are found through someone you know, I thought I'd throw it out there: does anyone know of an executive level position available for Mr. Dis? His background is as a Director in various Sales and Marketing divisions of his company (in the satellite industry). We're in Chicago but are willing to relocate to Seattle, Portland, New York, or Los Angeles, etc.
