Sometimes Days Are Overwhelmingly Good
Feb. 15th, 2005 08:37 amWow, yesterday was such a fabulous day that I decided to post about it. That way, when I'm having a bad day, I can go back and reread this.
Yesterday was all about spending time with friends, which is one of my favorite things to do. I started the day with a doggie play date: one of my co-workers (who is absolutely adorable and sweet and I wish she was my sister) brought her dog, Wolfie, over to my old place and our two dogs played. Poor things - her dog is older and had little patience for my 2-year-old bundle of dog spazzitude. But many, many treats were given to Wolfie and I think that helped a bit.
Then it was off to lunch with two of my former massage school classmates. Good food, great conversation, and quality people. Yay for long lunches with old friends!
After lunch, I scurried home to get the apartment tidied and make dinner for my girl. A couple of giant porterhouse steaks, baked potatoes, acorn squash, and for dessert - molten chocolate cake with vanilla haagen-dazs. Plus, I told her I'd do all the dishes. She hates to do the dishes, so I think that may have been the best part of it for her.
But wait, I almost forgot! I also received (FINALLY!) my authorization to test letter from the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork, which is the first step for getting my official Illinois License to be a practicing massage therapist. Finally! I've been checking the mailbox compulsively for nearly two weeks now, agonizingly listening to all my classmates who sent in their applications after me and had already received their letters. Whee! Now, all I have to do is pass this damn test because I cannot afford another $225 to take it again.
Oh, one more thing...although yesterday was all about spending time with people I love, there was the added bonus of the kick-ass watch my girl gave me as a VDay prezzie. It's so cool! It's shiny red leather (I guess that makes it patent leather, right? But it's not stiff), it looks vaguely like a wrist cuff, and it's got a stylized version of the symbol for female on the face in a slightly darker red color.
OK, enough rambling about myself. Let's ramble about YOU! Feel free to ramble on about any and all things going on in your life in a comment...I'm here to listen!
