ARRRRRRRGGGGGHHHHH!

Sometimes I wish that I didn't have to have a telephone - that we could somehow communicate without them.

Because every time I have some sort of problem with my phone line, the phone company always tries to tell me it's my equipment. When I tell them that I've already unplugged everything and have checked all the phones I have plugged into the line, they tell me I need to do it again. When that doesn't work, they inevitably tell me they can't get a technician out to my house for days. Then I have to wait hours for them, totally rearranging my (non-phone-having) life. Usually, the technician is condescending, which is yet another joy.

Phone companies rank right up there with airline customer service. They make you suffer when it's a problem with their service in the first place.

If I had halfway decent cell phone signal in my house (the thick greystone walls block a lot of signal), I'd solely use my cell phone. At least then there's no phone lines, no jacks, and no asshaty technician.
