Ebay Craziness! And Other Stuff

disbelief11I haven't been around much - school and life have been taking up too much time lately, and boy oh boy, do I miss you guys. My sincere apologies to everyone whose birthdays I missed - though I wasn't here to wish you the best, I was celebrating you here. I know it's not much but I promise to make it up to y'all next year! Heck, come on over and I'll give you massages!
Item the second: ebay craziness. There was this adorable plush Pepe the King Prawn doll (I love Pepe!) available on ebay. Keep in mind that there are sources out there saying that Pepe plush dolls will be released this summer by Nanco...so when the final selling price was $42.77 I nearly fell out of my chair. That seller has to be pleased with the auction results! Hell, Pepe would be pleased, don't ju think, hokay? He is de sexxay, just waiting to shake his bon bons for ju.
The opposite of sexxay loveliness would have to be the movie Monster. I saw it last night. There are some cool cinematic effects and I can appreciate the acting job that Charlize Theron did. But overall? Fucking depressing movie. When Lee Turgeson showed up, my OZ loving sensibilities perked up but then his character did something absolutely heinous - rather like something you would see in OZ, as a matter of fact - so even his part was ruined for me.
Plus, whenever I see movies like this, a little part of me wonders how many steps we all are from being this kind of dangerous, damaged person. Sometimes I don't think it's all that many, and that scares me.
