As seen on Craigslist - though I just don't see how this could be real:
This is some sort of writing exercise or sociology study, right?
ETA - yep, according to many sites, an urban legend. But is the person looking to see how many responses she gets?
WANTED: DEAD DOG IN SUITCASE
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Date: 2005-08-23, 11:11AM CDT
Last week I was house sitting for some friends of mine who went to Europe. I
was taking care of their house, and their beautiful German Shepard, Nero.
Well, the other day, I got back to find that the dog had died of natural causes
and old age. I contacted the owners of the dog and told them
what happened. They asked me to bring the dog to their vet to be cremated.
Since I live in the city, I don’t own a car, and would have to take public
transportation. I didn’t want people to think I was crazy carrying around a
dead dog on the El, so I stuffed him into a large suitcase. Plus, he was
easier to carry in a suitcase with handles, and I didn't have to worry about
his legs flopping around. Once on the Red Line, I got to talking to the man
sitting next to me. When we exited the train at the same stop, he saw me
struggling with my enormous suitcase. Being a petite girl, I had some
trouble carrying the 100+ pound dead dog, even in a suitcase. So when he
offered to help me carry the suitcase, I gladly accepted (I didn’t tell him
there was a dead dog in it). We walked about 50 feet together, with him
carrying the dead dog in my suitcase, and then he took off and ran up the
stairs with the dead dog!
If anyone has seen this man, or found a large suitcase full of dead German
Shepard, please contact me. The owners are returning next week and I really
need to have Nero cremated before they return.
this is in or around Chicago
