Guess who just remembered that she was supposed to renew her driver's license (in person, thanks to the stupid required vision screening) by yesterday?

Yep, it's me. Good thing I take the CTA most of the time.




Also, after more than nine years of living here, I am still not used to saying "I have to go to the Office of the Secretary of State to renew my license." It will forever be the DMV to me no matter what you try to call it, Illinois.

Yeahhh... in Indiana, it's the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV), but I never call it that, either.

BMV? Huh. At least you guys have an acronym. OSOS doesn't just roll off the tongue. Maybe, since the Secretary of State's name (Jesse White) is plastered all over the buildings also, I should just call it "Whitey's".

I don't know - I remember when I first moved here I called it the DMV in conversation and the other person said, "What?"
