If Wishes Were Fishes (or something)

I'm finally back home, where I'm glad to be...my own bed, my kitties, my computer. Unfortunately, I'm really sick (it just wouldn't be *Christmas* without a festive cold that morphs into a sinus infection). Must get better practically overnight as I'm looking forward to our New Year's Eve shebang.
Heh, shebang is a good word.
So to all my friends...I love you and I'm going to slowly catch up on my friends page. Please don't think I don't love you just because I haven't been around lately. And in the meantime, if I should say anything particularly weird or rude or strange or goofy, please remember this important fact: I'm on medication. Sure, sure, it's just cold medicine, but I find it to be a valid excuse nonetheless.

Date: 2002-12-28 09:39 pm (UTC)I'm sorry you aren't feeling well, honey! I hope you have some miraculous recovery b/n now and Tuesday, or failing that, a wonderful time being high on cold meds!

Date: 2002-12-28 09:42 pm (UTC)I'm so glad to see you're back!
I completely understand about the Holiday!Illness, though...seems like when you put 8 kids in a room once a year, at least one will be sniffly, and a few days later the adults will have caught it too [not even mentioning that my 5yo sister snuck onto the pullout couch after I was asleep Christmas eve and wound up breathing her germy breath in my ear for hours]
I'm sure you'll have a rapid healing experience, and be spiffing well in the nick of time for your shebang [which totally is a good word]
Again, welcome back (:

Thanks for the warm welcome back, you sweet thing!

Date: 2002-12-29 01:40 am (UTC)Hope that Christmas was grand, and that New Year's finds you healthy as a horse. Or, y'know, any other particularly illness-free farm animal.
Yeah, sorry... *ahem*... that saying really needs a good overhaul.
Anyway, *hugs* to help you get better, and *smooches* to make you forget your cold.

Date: 2002-12-29 10:19 am (UTC)The hugs are nice and very appreciated. The thought of the smooches is making my endorphins kick in and having a nice combination effect along with the cold meds. You don't mind if I imagine some back-rubbing and other fun things too, do you? *feeble attempt at leering*

Date: 2002-12-29 07:16 am (UTC)Festive illness, ho! I spent Boxing Day round with my parents. Blissful midget-free peace, champagne, and the quality chocolates hauled out at last. The only problem was, I was doing my usual "what was that on the telly?" thing (being too hopeless to see it at all unless I'm a foot away), my mother has laryngitis and lost her voice completely, and my dear Daddy is going deaf as a post but steadfastly refuses to admit there's a problem. My mother said we were like the Three Monkeys! Well, actually she croaked it out in a hoarse breathy little whisper, I fell about laughing, and my Dad sat there going "What did she say?"
*mwah* Glad you've back in the nest! And keep taking any medication you fancy...
