SIADD

I've got an acute case of SIADD - Sinus Infection Attention Deficit Disorder. I can't keep focused on one thing for more than a few moments at a time, thanks to my annual holiday sinus infection. Thank goodness for amoxicillin! I should feel about a thousand times better at this time tomorrow.

Random stuff floating around in my brain:

Today is the eleventy one anniversary of J.R.R. Tolkien's birth.

Herb Ritts, the amazing photographer, died last week.

Catch Me If You Can was a highly entertaining movie.

Death to Smoochy, while not as entertaining, did have some really funny lines.

Chocolate is a good thing.

anathema666 is a goddess! She sent me a little Lex of my own as a holiday prezzie. Hmm, wonder what kind of fun games my Flash figurine (from the Subway straws) and Lexy can have together? Thank you, Ana!

On the Lex Action Figure box? This description struck me as hilarious: "...a town now overrun with strangeness beyond understanding...". Understatement, much? We don't even have to go much beyond Lana's hang-ups to get to that point.

Okay, back to the couch to stare off into space and let my mind wander some more...

Oh man, well do I remember the sinus infection scourge. I actually had surgery in '99 and have managed to escape them since. Do you know of the wonders of what my ENT liked to call "nasal irrigation"? Saline solution snorted up the nose can loosen all the icky mucus. It used to help me in advance of the antibiotics.

surgery, eh? I used to get 3 or 4 sinus infections a year; now down to one, since I no longer work in an office where I'd pick up everyone else's colds. My immune system needs a serious boost.

Oh yes, the saline solution. Gotta love it.

My nasal passages were too small to drain adequately, thus the surgery. It was a good thing I did it - the ENT told me the channels from my sinuses to my nasal passages were swollen completely shut. I'd've never gotten better.

As for colds, I find a combination of echinacea and Zicam (zinc nasal spray) works wonders in getting rid of them fast. I pimp this stuff anytime anyone mentions a cold!
