Sickness, In More Than One Form
Jan. 16th, 2003 04:10 pmDamn it all, I'm sick again. With the exception of a few days here and there, I've been sick since the 10th of December. Let me tell you, I am pissed about it. Too bad anger at the invading germs doesn't seem to quicken the process of zapping the hell out of the germs and neutralizing them.
Mr. Dis is sick too - I've accused him of being the carrier to start with - so he's been working from home the last few days. In between his conference calls and emails, we've been watching the first season of 24 on DVD. That show is damn good!
While we were watching, I had a moment that reminded me of Lorraine Bracco in Goodfellas. Remember the narration when Ray Liotta tells her to get rid of the gun? It's something like "most women would have been disgusted by the bloody gun. I was strangely turned on." (I'm working from memory, so apologies if the quote's not right.) Yeah, right, so anyway: there I was, finding the sight of a bloody Richard Burgi (after Jack had beaten him) rather arousing. Mmmmm, Richard Burgi.
Do normal people (if there really is such a thing) get turned on by the sight of bloody men (and sometimes, depending on the show or movie script, bloody women)? And is that why I like Owen Wilson more than Luke Wilson...that obviously-broken-before nose of his?
ETA - Welcome to LJ,
bunglegirl! Glad to have you here!

Date: 2003-01-17 07:24 am (UTC)P.S. Bloody can sometimes equal The Sexy, as someome already mentioned that the bloody eyes MR made many a panty go *poof*, but its early and I can't think of any other examples at the moment.
