Got back late last night from a trip to the west coast to visit my friends.

In Seattle there was happy drunkenness with Marilyn and her friends; hot cocoa and laughter with Lilly and Margaret and Lilly's son and Margaret's new baby girl; lunch, lattes, and a precocious two-year-old with Lori; rain (of course, it's Seattle); shopping for my favorite treats at the Pike Place Market (Milk Chocolate Covered Sun Dried Cherries from Chukar Cherries); dinner with the lovely and funny [livejournal.com profile] jacynrebekah and [livejournal.com profile] joyfulgirl41; a drink at the Wild Rose (a lesbian bar where I was by far the most girly one in the place); and more that I'm sure I just can't remember.

Then there was the train ride to Vancouver. Watching the water and the mountains and the beautiful sky (the sun had come out) was amazing.

In Vancouver there was an incredible amount of fun and laughter with [livejournal.com profile] anathema666, [livejournal.com profile] divafive, [livejournal.com profile] eisakay, and [livejournal.com profile] thamiris. There was lots of good food, The Sentinel, good coffee, the best sex toy shop I've ever seen (Womyns'Ware), the Muppets 25th Anniversary CD, The Daily Show, Puppets Who Kill, shopping on Commercial Drive, scaring [livejournal.com profile] eisakay's mom without meaning to do so, unhooking of bras, sneaking pictures of those who don't like their picture taken, buying the Hot Hot Heat CD I've been wanting for months (I love "Bandages"), Purdy's Chocolates, Pocky, the SkyTrain, laughing over Margaret Cho's "gay daddy" bit with the waitress, and the desire to spend more time with all of the women I know in Vancouver...I adore you all.

And now? Back at home, I find I'm annoyed. Damn it all, coming back home to the bills and the laundry and the dishes and the not-recorded-after-all Carson Daly Show with MR and all that crap - especially after having so much fun - sucks ass. I'm stomping around in an entirely pissed off mood.

*sigh* I've missed you all and am slowly catching up on LJ.

Oh and...I'm considering making some Valentines Day Cards. So if you're not already on my mailing list and would like one, feel free to email me or comment with your address. If I'm not too lazy, you'll be getting some Valentine lovin' in the snail mail. (But you'll have to imagine the Valentine smoochies as I haven't figured out how to mail those yet.)

So glad you had a good time!

I've been taping the Sentinel on Sci-Fi and dipped my toe into the fanfiction waters over the weekend. I'm vaguely shamed about it, because the first season was so bad. I mean, I fast forwarded through 70% of the plots looking for slashy goodness. The second season appears to at least have improved the cliche-ridden dialogue somewhat, and I'm seeing more vibage between Jim and Blair. The way everyone talks about this show I was expecting first season Lex scorching looks right off the bat!

I've only seen a couple of episodes and yeah, the writing is pretty lame. But the boys are also pretty, so it balances out somewhat. [livejournal.com profile] divafive is fairly obsessed with the show, so she showed us one of the eppies she's got on tape.

Mmm, Richard Burgi biceps.

I first really encountered Richard Burgi as FauxYork on last season's 24. He was a bad guy, so I think my perceptions of Jim are affected! But they are certainly very pretty.

I was wondering where you were. Home in time for a promising Smallville episode! Your trip sounds like the one I'm thinking of taking in April, but I may dip down to Portland as well. Even with the rain, it was probably more bearable than the dry, cold Chicago weather.

It was a great trip! After living in the Seattle area for a couple of years, the rain doesn't really bother me...but you're right, the weather was much nicer than Chicago weather.

Sigh I already want to go back. It was so much fun!

Well, see, the picture portion should be over now. That is, as long as the pics that were taken turn out okay.

And trust me, I'm already looking at my calendar to see when I can get out there again. Or you could come visit me!
