Drugged Out
Jun. 30th, 2003 08:40 pmVicodin makes you sleepy, did you know that? Mr. Dis gave me 1/2 a Vicodin for my back - it's been killing me since Saturday. No idea what I did to hurt it, dammit. It's not like I can say it's from doing something fun, either! No "I hurt my back surfing the biggest killer wave on the North Shore" or "Let's just say the sex was really vigorous" or "It was a weird massage technique I had never tried before" for me. Nuh-uh, I have no idea.
Ah, apparently Vicodin makes one ramble worse than normal as well.
My apologies to
ethrosdemon,
isilya, and
thehoyden - I know it was the first time you met me and normally I'm much more sociable. I swear! The combination of the ibuprofen I was popping for my back and the need of curb space for our chairs was entirely to blame. I'll be happy to buy y'all a drink and get to know you properly the next time. As well,
spasticat,
maylilac, and
taraljc...it wasn't personal. Next year we'll have to find a spot that's easier for all of us to mingle and schmooze together.
mei_x,
slodwick, and
xica_s, you all were as fantastic to be around as always.
Highlights of Chicago Pride: the Righteously Outrageous Twirling Corp, whose motto was "you twirl, girl" and whose fabulous tee shirts said "wanna touch my spirit stick?" were my favorite parade entry. Closely followed by the Altoids float. WOW, does Altoids really know how to please the crowd - if you want to see the Altoids dancers, go here and then click on the thumbnails to see the men who were wearing nothing but red sparkly bikinis and Altoids belt buckles. Tied for second place with the Altoids float were the Chicago Kings, our fine city's drag king troupe, who were all decked out as sailors.
I'm leaving tomorrow morning for the big family 4th of July BBQ - not sure if I'll have time on the 'Net until I get back next week. So in the meantime, Happy Canada Day tomorrow to all my Canadian pals and Happy Independence Day to all my American friends. Any other countries whose holidays I'm missing - I'm sorry.
You twirl, girl!
