disbelief11Last night I watched Joe Schmo, a new twist on reality tv from Spike.
By the way, Spike tv for men, I hate your stupid and aggravating little animated icon you show incessantly. Knock it off.
Anyway, Joe Schmo. A faux reality show, where everyone is an actor except one guy. It's funny, it's hammy, it's sweet...the "regular" guy (Matt) may be a schmo, but he's nice. And it's hilarious to watch the writers and producers scramble when Matt throws them a curve they don't expect, or to watch the actors scramble when they realize they've broken character. I wonder how Matt will respond when he figures out this is all a hoax.
Though I do have my suspicions sometimes that the entire thing is a joke on the audience, because at times I couldn't believe that a guy like Matt actually exists. The cynical part of me kept saying, "are you sure YOU'RE not the schmo here?"
But I'm going to keep watching. Because the Best In Show flavor that Joe Schmo has evoked so far is fascinating.
