So, on Saturday morning I went to breakfast with a friend at the Ann Sather's in Andersonville (yes, I know that doesn't mean anything to most of you; hush). I look up after my first sip of coffee and whom do I see a mere 2 feet from me?

Scott Lowell.

Yep, the actor who plays Ted Schmidt on Queer As Folk. Sitting at the very next table.

Since he was with a bunch of people (never did decide if they were family or friends) who had kids, I decided I didn't want to invade his privacy to have a fannish moment with him. Instead, I played it cool but did grab my friend to point him out to her.

Sometimes Chicago is so cool. First I helped Joan Cusak at my place of work and now I've practically had breakfast with Scott Lowell. Sure, it's no Vancouver or NYC, but it's still pretty cool.

Heh, and my friend was trying to tell me to take his fork to sell on Ebay. I wouldn't have had any way to authenticate it for the buyer, though. That and the restaurant people might have objected to me taking his leftover food, dishes, and napkins.
