Quality People
Jul. 30th, 2002 09:38 amI'm convinced that life is too short to hang around anyone who isn't a Quality Person. At least, not when you have a choice about the matter.
Quality People make life wonderful. They are people who engage your mind, lift your spirit, laugh with you instead of at you, and who understand the importance of being silly. They're there for you whenever you need encouragement, whether it be a pep talk or a kick in the ass. Quality People may not share your same world views - hell, they may disagree with you at every turn - but they are willing to talk with you, to discuss any topic, merely for the joy of sharing ideas and stories. Quality People make you want to spend more time with them.*
Why the heck am I, devotee of the silly, being so serious right now? Because this weekend I had the good fortune of spending a couple of days with 3 such Quality People:
slodwick,
taraljc , and
tresca. They kick ass! We shared a lot of laughs, a lot of stories, a lot of Michael Rosenbaum, some great food, drink, movies, and music, and I am totally in awe of these women. They're all fantastic, smart, funny, and beautiful and I'm going to jump at any chance to spend more time with them.
So I guess this is a big shmoopy smooch to them. Yay!
*Quality People, unlike those idiots at the John Mayer & Guster Concert, emphatically do NOT shove their way into the already packed and hot crowd at the front of the stage in the middle of the show, pretending to be joining their friends in the front row.

Oh and Dis, hon? You rule beyond words! I loved hanging with you so very very much and I can't wait to do it again. Even if I have to fly back to the dreaded midwest to do it!

Date: 2002-07-30 10:24 am (UTC)I had the bestest time hanging with dis, tres, and slod. They didn't even hate me for getting lost after the concert and stuff. Just the bestest time ever. Quality folks all around.
