Grateful for the Little Things

disbelief11It's the little things that make or break a day sometimes, y'know? Today has been full of wonderful stuff, and this time I do feel like spelling them out on paper (or in LJ, as it may be).
In no particular order, I am grateful today for:
Finding my favorite pen. One of my indulgences is collecting cool pens. I've been missing my favorite pen for nearly a year...which apparently is how long it's been since I've used my leopard-spot purse, since that's where I found the pen.
And while we're on the subject of my purse, not only did my Animal Goddess (well, the purse is faux leopard...does that make it the Faux-Animal Goddess?) gift me with the return of the pen, she also thought I needed some cash. I opened the zippered pocket, only to find $32 there! Coolness.
Somehow every bus and train I took today miraculously showed up just as I reached the stop/station.
Bargains, bargains everywhere! I found a bunch of cool clothes totally on sale today as well. A kicky skirt, two dressy skirts, an elegant sleeveless shell, and some kickass winter gloves, all for a price that was almost criminally low. Yay!
The weather is beautiful here today. Cool, crisp, blue sky...reminding me why autumn is my favorite season.
Another reason to be grateful today? It's a big one: I have the coolest friends. Y'all are so funny, talented, and generous, and I treasure all of you. Thank you for all the times you've made me smile - and I'm always here if you need anything.

I think most of us are pretty damn lucky, apart from the daily hassles that we all face. I'm grateful for all of my cool on- and off-line friends too. Which includes you, of course, dollface.

The daily hassles don't add up to much when you stop and consider all the wonderful people, places, and things in the world. Sometimes we just need the inspiration our friends and loved ones give us to be able to look past the dumb things to see the good. Like gay porn, for starters.
...uh-oh, now a twisted version of "My Favorite Things" is crawling into my brain. Hopefully you'll still want to be my friend when I'm done mutating that song. And MWAH!
